Although the production date code stamped into the bottom bracket shell (...i.e. 8.07.7965) of this PY-10 clearly indicates that the frameset itself was built in July of 1978, all other attributes (...i.e. color scheme, decals, head badge, chrome trim, front fork, componentry, etc.) are consistent with model year 1979. Because this is a decidedly unfettered and unrestored example of originality (...excepting the front rim, which has been replaced), one is left to conclude that this particular bicycle was likely built very early in the production cycle anticipating the 1979 model year.
Please note that the eBay seller actually cited the wrong serial number for this bicycle within the text of his original auction listing (...he had "copied and pasted" the verbiage from a previous auction of his own for a separate PY-10, and forgot to amend that detail).
